TECHNICAL PUBLICATIONS - USE CASES - APPLICATION NOTES

Capturing the propagation of electromagnetic waves at 5 billion samples per second.

Incredibly, this isn't a simulation.

It was captured using a Scanphone (link below) and a very unique test setup. On a circuit board, signals propagate at approximately 150 ps/inch so it takes around 2.6 ns for the signal to get from the connector in the upper left to the connector in the bottom right.

And due to the mismatched load, many reflections are visible.

I'm excited to explore the different ways that this can be used.

INODESIGN GROUP

When designing an electronic product, INODESIGN GROUP is confronted with compliance with many European standards and directives. One of the important steps for your product to be on the market is electromagnetic compatibility (EMC)!

In order to be able to guarantee you the proper respect of the standards, SYZMO, the laboratory branch of INODESIGN GROUP, invests massively in sophisticated measuring devices, allowing its engineers to control the specifications of your project at each stage.

The extremely precise and detailed technical specifications given to its customers demonstrates rigorous monitoring of European rules (and others as needed), a guarantee of reliability that often makes the difference in a certification test-house thanks to harmonized measurement reference systems.

Discover in this short video, an example of the use of Luxondes technology (FR), which thanks to augmented reality and visualization in 3D, allows extremely precise control without risk of forgetting with recording evidence at each stage of the project.

"I have been using the EM-Scanphone for almost a year, on several types of projects related to electrified vehicles.
The Scanphone allowed us to see, literally, the EM field, and helped us through our EMC investigation, such as on radiated emissions of OBC, connectors or cables shielding.
I also used it to investigate on immunity issues due to BCI test. The Scanphone helped me to locate with good accuracy the radiating parts that are causing the defaults during the test.
(Figure of BCI test on traction battery showing the disturbance path and resonant parts).
The Scanphone makes also very easy to share investigation results with engineers from other domain (mechanical or cabling engineers for example), which helps to better explain the EMC issues to them and discuss more easily about countermeasures."

IGOS-MN (Israel) | Shielding a keyboard:

As part of a project, IGOS-MN had to identify sources and leaking points that would allow hackers to manipulate standard PCs. They
started with shielding the keyboard - because it is a weak point ...
Thanks to
Luxondes EM-Scanphone, it could be clearly seen.

Now
IGOS-MN ltd Shielding has the solution to prevent hackers and protect classified information.
